I've been invited to a LAN party by some of the guys at work.

Most cool!!! Very excited about this.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a LAN party

LAN = Local Area Network. Essentially - it's a computer party. We sit in a darkened room from Friday night, straight after work, straight thruogh until Sunday night, with our computers linked up to one another, and play computer games for 2½ days solid.

Lots of coffee, lots of beer, lots of pizza. Good fun

You live in Brighton don't you? You might see us wandering around ASDA at some point, raiding the pizza isle.

It seems that parties have moved on a bit then. In my day it was all drinking, smoking, talking and trying to get your leg over. No high tech stuff at all, unless you count your Dad's stereo in the corner: and you don't.

You're coming all the way to Brighton's Asda for pizza and beer? Haven't you got facilities in Eastbourne?

The party is in Brighton at a workmate's friend's house, so using Eastbourne's facilities would be a little out of the way

Ah, right. That makes more sense now.

Well I shall be on guard for random in the neighbourhood

Lol - we're pretty near the seafront and the hospital apparently (I've never been there before) - I don't know if it's anywhere near you - but we will be making random ASDA runs for beer/pizza/pro-plus quite often I should think.

From where I'm sitting the hospital is 100 yards up the road, and the sea-front is 100 in the opposite direction. So yes, you'll be very close to my office.

If you turn to the north west and look up the hill, my home is about a mile away, over the other side of said rise.

Have fun but try to stay out of trouble.
