Too much work?

The average student timetable at my college is 3½ "units" per week (Year 1 = 4, Year 2 = 3). (One Unit is supposed to = 4.5 hours in class, 4.5 hours at home - but I'm not actually *in* all the classes, just doing the work - at around 9 hours per week.)
I'm doing 8 units this term - that's just over 2 peoples worth.
Our principal says we sould work no more than 12 hours a week *absolute maximum* - otherwise it affects our studies.
Work + college travel time per day = ~2 hours (*7 = 14)
I'm doing 22½ hours a week - that's just under 2 peoples worth.
Also - I have Union business to attend to (~2½ hours per week), band practices (~5 hours) Church twice + Sunday schools on Sunday (3.5 + 2 = 5.5).
Sleep average per night currently = 4 hours (*7 = 28)
So let me do a little maths here...
8 x 9 = 72
+ 22.5 = 94.5
+ 14 = 108.5
+ 2.5 + 5 + 5.5 = 121.5
+ 28 = 149.5
Hours in a week = 24 x 7 = 168
168 - 149.5 = 18.5 hours per week (/7 = 2.64 per day) for me to eat, wash, do human things, and do h2g2.
Eeesh!
