So I realized that I forgot Calgary’s nightlife. It’s not all cowboys and prairie oysters. On 1st street my favourite bar resides. The Night Gallery. Depending on which night you decide to go you could be venturing into a night of electronica or rockabilly, funk or reggae, punk or industrial. I personally just like going for the people watching. Always fun wherever you are. Since I last lived here though, some things have changed. I guess all things must change at some time or another. Anyway that brings us to The Warehouse. It’s been around for awhile. You can dance the night away to a mix of eighties top ten to Marilyn Manson. I prefer to wear black when venturing out, but for the most part it’s fairly open to what you should wear. Mostly. The small but dedicated of people who frequent these places are pen minded. I’ve found “mainstream” crowds to be so much more narrow-minded. But that’s just my oh so humble opinion. If you’ve no problem with tattoos and piercings then you’d fit right in. smiley - smiley

The arts. Again Calgary’s art scene is more then the ubiquitous bronzed cowboys. Not that there’s anything wrong with bronzed cowboy statues. Really. I’m sure that they’re very nice. But not in my house. Calgary is home to the Alberta College of Art and Design. Fondly known as ACAD. Around Christmas you can go to the college and purchase some fine art. Found there is art ranging from glass to textiles and most everything in between. Great one of a kind gifts. Sorry I didn’t mean to go into a commercial. smiley - smiley

I’m not sure what else there is to talk about. Oh yeah. This little carnival they call the Calgary Stampede. There are plenty of sites on the net for any further information about that. smiley - smiley
