Douglas Adams Farewell Speech?

Its interesting that someone as so uninfamous as Douglas Adams has created such a profound feeling of loss among so many.
I don't think I can help being affected by his death. I spent a long time reading all of his books in the Hitch Hiker "Trilogy" (which i am told aren't very long, but by the same people who probably read the general novel slush that gets pumped out like uhh.. i digress but anyway...) And in the final book what happens, They all dies, not only that every earth in every dimension is destroyed too. I remember finishing at the time and being outraged that i read 5 books and then everyone got killed.
Now its different, i can look back and see thats the best way. There are people in this world that start off with something good. And carry on and on, with sequel after sequel, the baying of the crowd screams for more, the quality drops, and in the end the author isn't interested in writing just in producing the next money spinner.
Adams instead not only destroys the entirety of the cast and the main planet of the story in an irnoic and amusing twist of the story. He also makes It complete. And seals it as a masterpiece.
I think this was what made Douglas Adams special to me, he wasn't the old author that lived in a foregn country and found old sci-fi cliche storys and had washed out fantasy writers write his books for him and then have his name emblasoned across the front as a sort of marketing ploy.
He created Unique and marvelous master pieces each one he put his thought into.
And as one of these people who really cares about what they do, passes away. Someone i admired and someone who gave me part of what i am, I feel sadness.
But theres one thing you can say he may not have had a high profile career, but he had a happy life and he created some very good things that will exist long after he is gone and he will be remembered for this.
And if theres one thing i've learned it is exercise is really bad for you no matter what they say.
