Lady in a tree

We were having a huge row about the party we have planned for when we get back. He has always known about that, only he thought it was just a joint birthday party.

The argument began over the fact that I have organised the whole thing and then just told him what we were going to do - plainly not true as I have involved him in every decision along the way. True I have designed the invites, arranged the function hall, booked the entertainment (we are having a casino) etc - but I have never organised anything without getting his opinion first.

We then got onto the subject of money. smiley - erm

Who was paying for this lot. Well - that would be my folks but he didn't know that.

We had more words and it turns out that he doesn't appreciate the way I organise things and almost expect him to go along with it.

Oooops.

Eventually I felt I just had to tell him that I had organised something else and I needed to know whether I had done the right thing. It was like 20 questions getting it out of me but eventually he said the 'marriage' word. He thought that I had only organised to ask him whilst we were in Vegas. I had to tell him that everything was booked and arranged already.

I asked if I had made a big mistake and he said no. I asked him if he wanted to get married and he said yes.

Oh my god.

He said yes.

I am getting married on April 1st - 3 weeks and 5 days! smiley - yikes

Oh - I sprung one last surprise on him. I went upstairs and came back down with the wedding rings I bought last week! smiley - laugh

Lucky I did - his is too big so I'll have to get it changed.

Crikey. It's all so real! No wonder I am beginning to have anxiety attacks! I got vertigo on Saturday - bought on by stress. Hopefully now he knows it won't be so bad.

Phew.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

smiley - wow

Are you disappointed not to have the surprise to spring?

To be honest, I loved sharing the buliding sense of excitement as we approached the big day with my fiance so you will be able to enjoy it together now smiley - cool

A shame you ended up springing your surprise in the heat of an argument, but what a cool reaction to get. He said *yes* smiley - bubbly

Thanks Cheery smiley - ok.

Kelli - It was all getting a bit stressful to be honest. I was finding it harder to maintain the pretence that the party was just for our birthdays - it means so much more.

I was having nightmares about how I would actually go about asking him - I even thought about asking on the plane over there. At least that way he couldn't run away from me! smiley - erm

I am very relieved - both in having told/asked him and that he said yes!

There'll be plenty o' smiley - bubbly drunk in the very near future I predict! Not good for the waistline! smiley - laugh
