Where have you been?

I was just mentioning to Nog the other day that you seemed to have disappeared. Was it to someplace nice?

Hoo has left, so has Blues Shark and Alfster. Many others - like me and Nog - are only here part-time anymore. We've started blogs to post 'journal entries' as this way we don't need to worry about the pronannity filter - though of course nobody on our blogs has abused their 'right to swear'. Nog says Hi!

Over here to world cup was live from about 6am to 2pm. This took up most of my day. The rest of the time I was squeezing in as much work as I could, leaving little time for h2g2.

Don't you feel this place is more drab than it used to be? It's hard to get motivated to get stuck back in. I see all the bloggy stuff people are doing - I'm not sure this is the cause of the dullness or a reaction to it. Nah, a reaction. Shame.

New? Ummmmmmm..., I'm busy in the lab, crossing plants, computering... Nothing much - the WC was a welcome break. Working for 3 hours a day is a perfect amount of time. I feel like I've been on holiday.

Pretty much a reaction, I'd say. But now that it's started I can't see it changing.

It makes me quite sad when I look back on what hootoo used to be, and how much I used to love it. Now most of those people are gone, or are only around occasionally, and there's nothing really interesting going on.

I know exactly what you mean. It's hard for me to get motivated to contribute to threads for that reason.

You see the same old arguments repeated over and over.

I wouldn't mind the "circulation of arguments" if the overall level of debate was good, but mostly it isn't.

And these days I can't seem to concentrate on writing much. It all seems like too much effort.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm writing a paper right now, so this is a distraction *from* writing. Doesn't help my unwillingness to contribute either.
