Ottox, you forget that I'm perfectly capable of looking at the previous page... (And maybe that you'd sent those photos to me ages ago...?)
Lovely photos, Mistdancer!

Very lovely photos, Mistdancer!

It annoys me that the government take the cash if the parent that lives with the child doesn't work.
My mate was in that position, and the money her ex was paying was a lot more than she was getting off the state! Even with her rent included.
She went out and got 2 jobs to make up her 16 hours so she could claim it.
Luckily they are back together now, but it's disgusting.
I also didn't know that WFTC counted as income to the absent parents. That sucks. What's the point of awarding cash to families, then taking it away and giving it to a different one!!

Mistdancer,
Just a note to say that I'm tninking of you ....
I have been as low as you probably feel and although there's nothing I can do, I can tell you what someone once told me ....
Try not to despair because that only adds to the pile of woes - sit down and think about all the things that are GOOD - in your case, good kids, good friends, a good man, and, as silly as it sounds, you will start to feel better ... and then you'll feel better for just feeling better.
I'm sending you loads of s and positive thoughts.

Bob
Yep, still in Liverpool. Thanks, I will, but when the step kids are gone!
Mina
Yes, it sucks big time. Huge double standard. And there is virtually no chance that she will go to work!
Feisor
I am blessed with great kids, a great man, and wonderful friends!
for all, and a for Ottox!
Skids are here, gotta go!

Hi Misty, sorry I've not been about for a while, I've been in bed since Sunday afternoon with one h*** of a cold. How did your weekend go?
Ok, time for a rant...

Hi GW
Weekend not too bad this time! Stepkids still can't get the idea that my son is only 5 and they are 12 and 14. So they wind him up all day, and then complain when he gets upset, or goes a bit wild!
SD had her belly button pierced by her friend. It's gone all yukky! She can't say we didn't warn her! But then, mum doesn't care and I don't matter, so what can I do? Then she goes out in the afternoon, and returns with boyfriend in tow. And just walks right on into my house with him. She was told in no uncertain terms to leave! We have a rule here that they don't bring anyone into the house because of all the computer stuff in the living room. Round here, you don't let anyone know what you've got if you want to keep it! Cue the sulks and the "you're mean". She knows the rules, but seems to think they don't apply to her.Bloody teenagers!
Apart from that, not a bad weekend. Makes a change
I hope you're feeling better. Was it the bug that's been doing the rounds? We've all had that, and it was horrible. Get well soon

I know it's not the point, but if you need any advice on the piercing, just let me know.

Thanks Mina
The friend missed where she should have put the piercing, and wound up basically just making a hole through her stomach! I, of course, know nothing and can't tell her anything so I told her dad to tell her to bathe it with warm water and to put TCP on it, like you do with ear piercings that go yukky.
Her dad told her he didn't want her getting it done, nor was she to get a tattoo till she was older, but there you go. Like I said, mum doesn't care and we don't matter. So we're just waiting to find out that she's got a tat!!

From personal experience the age thing doesn't matter When my mom said I couldn't have my ear pierced when I was 13, I went ahead & did it myself with a darning needle.

Bob is right, she won't be able to get a tatoo done at this age. No tatooist would touch a kid.
If the hole is leaking lymph (that white pus-y stuff) then she can bathe it in salt water, (just chuck some salt in the bath if she has one with you), and/or leave a tissue (*not* cotton wool) soaked in saltwater pressed up against it. Otherwise the lymph will dry as the skin heals and leave her with a tiny lump under the skin.
If it changes colour, especially if it goes a weird sort of florescent green, it's infected and it might be a good idea to get it looked at by a .
I have to admit I am not against girls that age getting navel piercings, but they do have to be sensible enough - and have a caring enough parent around (obv she doesn't when she is with her mother. ) to make sure it's looked after it. And I wouldn't dream of trying to sway you or your partner about it.

The problem with the age thing for getting a tattoo is that she's 5'9" and could easily pass for 16
We don't object to her getting the piercing, but we do think that she's too young and careless to look after it properly. Guess we were right!
I have 3 piercings in each ear, and I did them all myself with a needle! I did have more, but I let them heal up. Hey, I'm a biker, what can I say

Hopefully any tattooist would look past her height, and ask for id. It's a serious offence, so I'm sure they'll all be careful.
Good luck with her.
