Why?
What did the children do?
Why sneek in the back way? Because 'THEY' would NEVER have had a chance at war?
Why war? Why can't man love eachother? And if you can't love...
why not just leave things be?
My flag is at half mast. I've tied a huge black bow onto the front porch.
My cabin is in a flight pattern. No trains have run. No school buses have been by...then an awful noise...fighter planes are going overhead...one after another. I'm mad. I'm sad. I'm afraid.
I try to stop the hateful thoughts toward what I just cannot understand.
If I could, I would do whatever it takes to make the cowards pay.
But how do you replace a child, a friend, a spouse?
Heros were made as well as lost this the 11th of September 2001.
Phone lines were shut down until late in the day.
All public buildings are closed. We are being held captive in our own homes. I have noone to fight.
The older people are hording food and water. They have seen this before. Sort of...Pearl Harbor, the Depression... Somehow this is more shocking.
I beg...stand together, in love and in peace.

I can't answer any of those questions for you Pan.
I fear your request may not be forthcoming. I suspect there is a knife edge balancing act going on between vaguely rational, diplomatic pursuits and a full scale invasion of (for eg) Afganistan
I grieve for your loss
One thing i have learnt today was how close i am to people on h2g2. A small ray of sunshine, but the best i can do at this stage

In all the anger, that balancing point between redress and revenge must be found, so that we do not descend to the same level as the perpetrators. Forgiveness may be impossible, but balance is essential ... so that things do not get worse.

by Chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb",

I hope he got the last bit wrong.

' THE DAY THE WORLD CRIED'
A CHILL RAN THROUGH MY HOME TODAY
IT JUST WOULD NOT GO AWAY
THE PHONE RANG, SO I ANSWERED WITH A SIGH
BUT NOONE SPOKE, THERE WAS JUST A CRY
WHAT? I SOBBED IN DISBELIEF...
SO MUCH TAKEN BY A COWARDLY THIEF!
HEROS MADE AND TAKEN FAST
HOW COULD THIS THING LAST AND LAST?
I PLEA FOR YOU TO TELL A FRIEND:
"PLEASE LOVE! THIS MUST NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!"
SEPTEMBER ELEVEN TWO THOUSAND ONE
POOR, SWEET CHILDREN HAD NO FUN
IT'S ALL TOO MUCH. TOO MANY DIED.
IT WAS THE DAY THE WORLD CRIED.
