Who are 'THEY'?!?

You know what they say...Who Are THEY?!? i.e., 'They' say, "You can't take it with you when you go." Well, I'd like to know just who 'THEY' are?!? And how do 'THEY' know these things?

"They" are conversation gnomes. They don't do anything useful like repairing shoes while you sleep, they simply provide somewhat witty sayings to people who have none of their own to share. The people sharing these old saws with you probably do not remember where they first heard them, as conversation gnomes fog the mind to hide their movements.
