lah and nuh were given the noble responsibility of demonstrating love to the world. after their time was fulfilled, lah and nuh presented themselves before the master. no sooner than the master asked them about how they fared, nuh broke out in a frustrated tone. 'lah has been a total failure. she has shown no respect for me. she flirted with other men. she ditched me without warning and married another. she has insulted and hurt me at every opportunity.' nuh went on in this manner for a long time. then the master turned to lah, she said 'i would have liked nuh not to talk about my behavior to anybody, not even to you master.' and then she said no more. the master told lah that she may leave as she has more or less fulfilled her responsibility. nuh stood there puzzled and looked questioningly at the master. the master understood nuh's question and replied 'nuh, your responsibility was with your life. irrespective of lah's behavior you were responsible for the love in your life. when you let lah's erratic behavior upset you and your love, it is you who have failed me and not her.'
