Sitting in the house the other day, i could hear my kids playing in the garden with their mates and then the loudest scream you could imagine screeched through the air, i ran outside to see 3 of the boys holding my youngest's boys arm, my boy had projectile tears.
His wrist was in the shape of an 'S', i cant stand the look of broken bones in the papers let alone one right in front of me, he felt sick and wimpy dad here thought "i gonna pass out", but i put on a brave face and shouted for the wife to get in the car now.
Took him to hospital and they x-rayed it and both bones either side of his wrist had snapped in half literally, the hand was just hanging, i have never seen anything so horrific in my life.
The operation lasted well over an hour with pins and wires and god knows what else.
He is now back at home with the whole arm in plaster, and the first thing he said is when can i play the drums again, bless him.

Hi Lil
Yea, they do spring back, too quickly, he knows he has got at least a week off of school and is milking it.
"As i broke my wrist dad, can i have a new playstation game" as long as he enjoys his brother playing it, as he cant i told him, "ok get me a new one when i'm better" with his towards his bro

Ouch! Glad he's on the mend!
Many years ago my broke his kneecap. It was literally in half and the top half had "riden" up his leg (ooh) He was in full leg plaster for several weeks. I had to laugh when they took the plaster off though, because the ex-plastered leg was a lot thinner than the ther one and a lot hairier

I think he broke it by doing the first thing you do when you fall, he put his arms out, instinctive reaction, but put his whole body weight on his left wrist which just buckled underneath him.
I think the words are to "break your fall".....yea right, break being the operative word

Talking of feeling sick.
This is the situation. Bit Sister and her hubby going to a bike rally a couple of hundred miles away.
the phone rings at home.
Mum answers the phone (my mum btw is lil who posted above and my sister is VC who is also online here).
It's VC's hubby on the phone.
VC's hubby is talking to mum. Mum doesn't realise who she's talking to (I think she just woke up or something).
Mum is wondering why someone from WORK is phoning her at home.
Suddenly it clicks who she's talking to.
At that point VC's hubby says:
"Chris. VC's had an accid....." He didn't get to finish what he was saying because all he could hear was mum shouting for my dad.
Needless to say...I do hope your kiddie doesn't use his plastered arm as a weapon to hit people he doesn't like Not that I ever did anything like that when I broke my arm.

The first thing my older boy did (being BBB) was draw a penis on the cast pointing upwards and wrote 'dick head', how lovely and it wont come off

Alas for him it was his other hand, but he is still off school as hospital advised that he stays off until 2nd x-ray is taken this week, he cheered at that, but we groaned
He started on the drums again sunday, and thought he was Rick Allen from Def Leppard, "if he can do it then so can i" he told us.
Told him that Rick Allen didnt have an arm to rest and get better, but you have, so with that he got off and i went on it with a and of course an
