Feeling Confident!

Now I am feeling better. I have made a decision: to take note of my dreams. I believe we get guidance from our subconscious that way. So from now on I will try and remember my dreams every night, write them down, and ponder them. I think self-knowledge is very important for making the right choices, and for following them through.
Now that I am feeling better I am considering changing the introduction above into something a bit more positive.

I wrote my dreams down for a while (still do when I remember and have the time)... it's really and enlightening experience. I hope you have fun and learn all sorts of cool things about yourself. I know I did.

Yeah, some dreams reveal things that I was unaware of - unresolved issues, so on. Others are just plain weird! But it's quite interesting what kinds of things come out in dreams - for instance my dreams have told me recently so go speak with the preacher from my old church, to pay more attention to watering my trees, and to resume performing barbell squats in the gym. If I thought consciously about those things I might have figured them out, but it all came through while I slept and when I woke up I had no doubt about the course of action I needed to take.

Awesome.
I love the dreams where I spend time with people I haven't seen for a while (because they're at university/in the military and I get to see them all of once or twice every few months) and wake up with that wonderful warm-fuzzy feeling of safety and love. Just had one of those the other night, matter of fact. 'Twas nice.

Sometimes in dreams I spend time with people who have died...

I hope it's good time... and you wake up feeling a little better about them.
Amy, who is because the Mods are being difficult...

Ah, someone tried to moderate one of my postings in a conversation I was having with ddombrow about poetry and philosophy and I happened to mention some of the titles of the books I was reading... somehow, that fell into the realm of "copyrighted works." *eyebrow raised* I have a feeling it wasn't an actual Mod, just someone trying to play havoc with my mind since I'm not a Zaphodist. *shrug* I don't know.
But it's gone now, so that's alright.

That sounds extremely silly. But some of my postings have had extremely silly things done to them. One link was removed, and it was a link to my old site right here on BBC h2g2!!! Another posting that was in Afrikaans, that I posted to another Afrikaans speaking guy who is a member of h2g2, was also removed, and removed so completely that not even a message, or any mention of it, is left!!!

Oh yeah - I am a Zaphodista, for a great variety of reasons, but I respect and will fight for your right not to be one. I will find out if any Zaphodista is responsible for messing with you and if one is, I will discipline said person in whatever way necessary. We stand for minimal interference so if one of our members interferes it is very hypocritical.

Can you give me more details of those almost-moderated entries? It doesn't seem to me that there's any way a Zaphodista could have tampered with it. Unless maybe that Zaphodista was Peta, our loyal Community Editor. But I really don't think that Peta would do such a thing. She's at the end of her wits about moderation hassles, without having to create more herself!
Anyways I have been speaking to the other fellas. Tell me, have you ever been hassled by anybody because of your pro-moderation views? Or have you witnissed other people being nasty about the issue? I'd like to know, because I don't want the community to become divided or sore at each other because of this.

All it was was a mention of a book title; the notice of moderation is gone now and the post is back-- who knows what happened? Both ddombrow and I think think that maybe it was one of the Mods themselves who saw book titles and for some reason mistook it as a copyrighted-type thing-- or wasn't sure if it was included in that category. It's understandable (I probably would have checked to make sure if I were a Mod myself).
I haven't been hassled by any of Zaphodistas... and hopefully I never will be... I have friends here on both sides of the fence and, really, it never seems to come up between us. I don't think anyone's really sore about it-- at least not those who are okay with Moderation-- and even the Zaphodistas are respectful of everyone else for the most part... I don't think I've run across a conversation of bitter complaint about the issue, just concerned discussion. I certainly don't want the site to become divided about this... h2g2 is one of the only sites of her kind in existance and is pretty darn peaceful-- practically an internet utopia-- and a separation of this kind could pretty well ruin it. I'm hoping the Beeb and Peta and the rest of the Editors (and us, the researchers) will be able to come to a consensus about Moderation issues in the near future. *hopeful *

I think what happened was that your post was referred for moderation and then reinstated within a short period. That has happened to me and to others I know a lot. Book titles are not really a copyright infringement but it can be seen as 'advertising'.

You don't say. Anyways how about we talk about something more cheerful! You have anything nice to report?

Yeah, actually... I got the financial aid offer from the college (er, university; they're one in the same in the States) I'm planning to attend and luckily it looks like I'll be pretty well off. Now I only have two months of high school left... and they sure are dragging by... *shudders at the thought of her term paper which is due at the end of the month... one with four chapters...*

That's good news, yes! Your school system sounds funny to me. With us it never happened that school ends in the middle of the year. For everyone school ends at the end of the year. If you fail your exams at the end of the year you have to repeat the entire year. I think - maybe it's changed by now. It has been very long since I've been in school. I hardly remember any of it!

Hmm... I didn't know that some school systems started when the year actually started... interesting. But how do you stand being cooped up in a classroom during the spring and summer months?! I go stir crazy as it is.
