(this is the dull namedrop paragraph. you may want to skip to the next one which is far more interesting)
Just got back from long night out, still a tiny bit drunk but happy. Started off at Langham Place on roof bar of hotel for Pete Lane's leaving do, met Bob Eggington (head of News Online) who is a thoroughly decent bloke, caught up with Matt Karas and Emyr and Obi, saw Adam and Kanta who I hadn't seen in years. Got very dizzy very fast off a double-whisky-and-Coke and was swaying slightly when talking to Pete and Shawnee about their games company. Persuaded Petra (ex-Audiorom) to accompany to Cherie Matrix's leaving do in Brixton, which had loud drum'n'bass and Zoe from Pangolin (who I've been talking about Javascript with on Ollie Cornes's "anoraks" list - I didn't realise which Zoe it was until tonight). Emma was there too but as I sit next to her in the office there wasn't much to catch up about... but we had lots of fun anyway.
Had a very very nice time.

At midnight, the Victoria line train I'm on pulls into Pimlico. Beepbeepbeep, doors open. Beepbeepbeep, doors close.
Pause.
Train's tannoy: "Pull that thing out the doors, you're not getting on."
There's someone shouting on the platform: "My leg! My leg's stuck! Open the doors!"
Nothing happens. People in the next carriage move towards mine to get a better view, but I can't see anything from where I'm sitting.
"Open the doors! My leg's stuck!"
Eventually there's some beeping and I hear another carriage's doors open and close. As the train pulls off, the tannoy, menacingly:
"You won't find it so easy getting off."

I found some particles of glitter on my arm, on the way home. Don't know where they came from.
Unix-talked Quinn and Nancy at the Seybold conference. Wrote this journal entry. Collapsed into bed. Overslept.

Key: Complain about this post
