Recent events:
Gallery thing with Drummond and Stallman. Now have a shot with the creators of the Kopyright Liberation Front and the GNU Copyleft in the same frame, if rather blurred. Also have one of St. Ignucius blessing Danny. Leave me alone, it makes me happy.
Cousin's wedding yesterday. Very orthodox side of the family, separate seating and dancing for men and women, with a dividing wall down the middle. Dancing was great though in a tiny space. Orthodox Jewish weddings should be experienced by everyone.
Got a grilling from my paternal grandmother too. "You know, dear, I went to Yael and I told her that I'm getting on in days, you know, and I would like to see her be married while I can, because it's so lovely, such nachas! And you know, three days later she came back to me and said she was getting married! So, if you..." blah blah blah.
Translation: WE HAVE THE NEGATIVES OF YOUR GUILT COMPLEX. PAY UP WITH GRANDCHILDREN OR WE GO PUBLIC.
Yael is my cousin, a few months older than me. It wasn't 3 days, it was more like 3 months, and she was doing everything she could to try and put grandmother off. I don't think she succumbed for her benefit.
Nachas is... my translation is "parental glow of pride gained by achievments of offspring". Bywater's is "conditional suspension of contempt".
Richard Harris showed me his QTVR shots of Sri Lanka, and I crashed Jim's laptop trying to get my own shots of the previous night off the CompactFlashes. Dammit.

Flatmate Dan's girlfriend Mel's birthday barbecue at Hanstater's tonight, followed by me dragging The 'Grid (mad but lovely Asian babe) over to Shoreditch for Tom Ladner's birthday on Ellipsis's roof. Should be fun if I ever make it out of here.
Just had Bywater reminiscing about Anita Sinclair. 24 carat gold.
Hence, media of the day: The Magnetic Scrolls games.

Yoz, sometimes your trail of conscious thought is very Izzard-ish! That's a compliment in case you were wondering!

Yuh-huh, 3 months? Over my dead body, more like.

(But, should the moon turn blue, hell freeze over and I actually get dragged to the altar (or rather, under the chuppah) then you're very welcome to come along... don't hold your breath, though...)

Goodness, that *is* quite a compliment.
Mind you, I don't think I'm as good at the Eddie Izzard thing as our Tim is:

Yeah, I've read about him - it's confusing that sometimes you all use your on-line names and sometimes you use your real ones - so just stop it! smiley - smiley

You... were ... there ... with ... Drummond ...

Cor.

Actually, one of my recent "happy" times was finding a copy of "the manual" in london - well, the reprint.

Actually, found a good KLF article that someone's submitted. Might have to take another look!

Oi! I'm wanted! I'm quite surprisingly in demand.
But I ain't nailing myself to the floor for no one. Not for a long time, anyway.

So there.

... and you'll notice that the reprint of The Manual was published by Ellipsis, who are mentioned in my original journal entry, but not in a Drummond context...
