When I Awake
October Morn Started conversation Jan 14, 2001
I can still taste the air
Filling my lungs with purity
But then I awake
To the sound of terror
The terror of hatred
I can feel the grass between my toes
As I run through the field
Yet when I awake
I am reminded that my life
Is surrounded by ignorance
I can reach out to the trees
Brush them, draw power from them
But when I am awake
There is nothing but death
Death of peace, death of compassion
I can express every emotion
With no fear of dispersion
But then I awake
And I pull into my skin
To survive is to deny myself
One day I will return home
I will find peace again
But then I awake

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
