"They appeared to be in good condition other than injuries that they appear to have suffered when they hit they ground."
BBC New just now.

Oh, and did you forget to type a subject line for your journal? Does it read the above now if you forget, instead of the 'No Subject' we're used to?

I think you'll find it was regarding some starlings that had crash-landed as a group. The RSPCA are (or were) trying to find out what had caused the mass crash. It's actually relevant that they weren't all apparently diseased or suffering any obvious defects that may have *caused* the crash...

Oh. I thought it was about the Russian asylum seekers in Glasgow who jumped from a tower block.

Could well have been also, but I read it on the starlings story yesterday.

Ow! What a sad and bizarre story.
Maybe they were distracted mid-swoop. Perhaps Kerry Katona dropping her shopping bag?

Mass suicide pact brought on by a rise in religious cults among avians in this country. The immigrants did it. Obviously.
Just in case anyone isn't aware...

Mrs SWL just commented that it's far more likely they collided with a UFO than Kerry Katona dropped her shopping bag.

I have been banned from Hootoo for the day as I tried to update my registration!
What amused me was the 'they were alright until they hit the ground' and reminded me of the motorcycle pillion rider (who put his coat on back-to-front) and (when he fell off) was 'alright until we turned his head the right way round'.

Also, I thought when I read the thread this morning there was a message as to whether the mosque that collapsed in Meknes (do things get yiked on the quiet these days) was 'one of mine'. No it wasn't - the fourteen minarets that I have built are still standing - as are the various church towers that I used to do quinquennial inspection of.
And no Bell-Hell, I cut and pasted 'You must type a Subject for your Journal Entry' as Auntie has got bossy and slaps your wrist if you omit to put a title - taken a leaf out of Mr Gates' book methinks.

A complete non-sequiter it was another thread - all the more frustrating for being 'off limits'.
