h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've been away lately, because I've been experiencing some unpleasantness. I wasn't really surprised by this- I know from experience that whenever my mother goes away somewhere, everything in the house seems simultaneously to brake down

Nothing however, can dampen my mood tooday since the day I had been waiting for for two year has finally come- I no longer belong to the IDF!

Off course, now there is the prospect of real life looming menacingly in front of me....
The truth is it has been looming for quite some time now, but I still haven't figured out exactly what to do about it

Toonight though, I plan on just sitting around and enjoying my freedom...

Congrats! My sis just got out about two weeks ago or so (it was supposed to be July but she signed for two more months).

The basic plan is to look for a job and hopefully Uni next year, but nothing specific so far, no.

We might not be the Technion, but to go as far as asking if we have a physics department?!

Er, make that 'nerve'...

I'm asking because when I did a search for physics, it only turned up courses in the Technion and the University of Tel Aviv.
Tel Aviv is closer (plus they have a physics and astronomy). The Technion is gennerally considered the best in theses subjects.
What advantages do you have to offer?

Where have you been searching?

I just looked in the shnaton, and under Physics, they have 265 courses listed (I wanted to do a link but it's not really working, so you'll have to do the search yourself... just go to http://www.huji.ac.il --> 'For Students' --> shnaton, and take it from there)

Then looked for 'astronomy' and found two other courses: 82310 is Planetary Astronomy, and 77123 is something they call 'Astronomy for Poets' ( neat!) which from their description is basically astronomy without all the maths stuff (NEAT!!).

So there!


But yeah, the Technion is probably better... *shrug*

Come here! That'd be fun. Physics is in Givat Ram, but if you happen to study something in Mt. Scopus, I could show you around... well, sorta. The place is too much of a labyrinth.


No, I'm joking. Go to where it's better. I know Hebrew U has some good researchers in chemistry and biology (my mum works in the Uni's intellectual property ompany), but I don't know about physics.
And Haifa is a cute city.

Actually, a friend of the family is a professor in the Technion... er, something with computers, I think. *shrug* Not sure.
