Dreams (oddly enough, this wasn't planned)

I had one of the weirdest dreams in my life last night, not just weird but scary in the fact that I couldn't seem to wake from it. I was a prisoner in my own backyard along with 50 or so people around my age...some I recognize from classes, others I have never seen before. We were rounded up by a professor of mine and forced to participate in these strange activities and 25 mile runs.
It rolled around to visitation weekend and the person I was living with escaped with a friend. I was to come with him but I was running into many obstacles along the way. Later that day, I turned on my laptop to find a message from him that I had to decode and answer questions to access.
A car would be waiting for me. I found an opportunity to break away from the group to get to the car. I told the woman inside that he had sent me and if we went the back way, we wouldn't be caught. She said this was fine and then proceeded to drive me straight into the backyard where the professor was standing. She pulled me out of the car and was about to punish me when I finally woke up.
This dream seemed to last for hours and was so strange and vivid. Perhaps brought on by the stress of college life?
