hehehe. Well, they haven't KILLED me yet. But the erotica does appear to have mysteriously disappeared. *POOF*

Wondered if that might happen, and can't seem to access the email account I created for this place, to see if I have gotten any nasty letters. Ah well, was fun while it lasted. And rather than feel hurt, I'll chose to look at it as if we were before our time, like Henry Miller--easier to accept that way. Had a lot of fun colloborating with Yanka Wanka--love ya, ca'pn!

Now to post, and see if anything happens--could be they really did shut me down. Ciao, baby!

smiley - sadface Too bad. YankaWanka's stories had substance to them. Blue balls in a small car was a winner, and the conversations following Wet dreams--doin' it on a boat was continuing the story so nicely. And that poem about the painted fingernails---you were collaborating very nicely indeed. Too bad he's gone. Too bad. smiley - sadface

I was wondering where those entries had gone off to...I was looking forward to an evening of titillating delights, plus adding a little tale (tail?) to the Blue Balls in a Small Car forum of my own. Would the powers that be truly do such a thing?

Isn't it incredible that this posting has received only two replies? People, thy names--first, last and middle--are Apathy! Shame on you, all of you.

Not so! We - I speak for all of us - have just been busy somewhere else.smiley - smiley

'GroominaWookie' is a name that caught my eye, and I wondered what sort of story there might be attached to it. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that there is as yet no story at all; although there does seem to be a theme suggested in the forum topics.smiley - winkeye

Of censorship there is none... just a little concern for the younger members of the community and those who don't like naughty words. Write about anything you want, as long as you do it in a way not intended to offend other people; that's just good manners.smiley - smiley

We had no intention of offending others. And really, were the words THAT naughty? Have a sneaking suspicion this has to do with something else... We'll see.

Nice to meet you Magnolia. The only word I refer to is the 'C' word in the title of this thread; I haven't seen the others, so I'm not in a position to say whether they're naughty or not. I know the folks that run the place take pride in the latitude that Researchers have to express themselves; and, given that a significant number of those Researchers are children, I don't think it's unreasonable of them to expect we older samples to exercise a little more restraint than we might do in an adults only environment. Still, please don't think that I'm condemning anything specifically written by you; as I say, all that I've read is right here in this forum.smiley - smiley

... and, now that I think about it, the main reason I stopped by was to encourage your friend to write something personal in his/her Personal Space... that and a toothache.smiley - winkeye

Hi, JTG! Having loads of fun here--but was a little surprised at the sudden nuking of my home. Seems a bit of an overreaction, but I'll respect the local government, as they have so kindly allowed me to homestead here. And I suspect I know what brought it all about--but that's another story.

Can we make an outside link for the racier stuff, and post big warning signs on it to warn away those who would better avoid our stimulants, and still carry on the related conversations? Other than the Bedtime Stories, it was mainly a lot of innuendo and wordplay. Nothing worse than what goes on elsewhere in h2g2.

I appreciate your input, and am happy to hear that h2g2 is not set on stamping out diversity in their piece of the universe. That was the disturbing issue.

Regards,

M.T. smiley - smiley

Links to naughty stuff on the outside is frowned on too, I'm afraid. The view is that if the link is here, then the content is too.smiley - smiley

Hi Magnolia.

From reading your postings I see you didn't get my email, which I sent to you just before I deleted the 'offending' threads'.

This is what I said in the email. If you want to discuss it with me feel free to email me on [email protected]

Re: Blue balls in a small car and other bedtime stories.
==========================================

You have, unfortunately, breached the terms and conditions of h2g2. I say unfortunately because the h2g2 in-house editorial team thought your combined postings were highly entertaining. But someone's complained, and contacted me. So I'm going to have to delete the story threads from h2g2 and ask you nicely not to post similar material on h2g2. One day we'll probably have private forums on h2g2, but in the meantime the material can be seen by minors, so we are obliged to remove it.

You can find a copy of the terms and conditions here.

And were the words 'that' naughty? Well from an adult perspective *I* took it in exactly the way it was intended I think, a bit of harmless fun. However, if someone complains to me about the suitability of a posting, we do have to use evaluate it and use our judgement on what is suitable public forum material. Obviously some countries or areas have laws and traditions that are either more liberal or more censorial than others, so we have to look at all postings from a global perspective.

In this instance I looked at the piece and how it would be reviewed from a film censors point of view. In the UK a TV programme or cinema film showing an erect male penis is not seen to be suitable for a film or TV audience. It wouldn't been given an 18 or adult certificate. Although your stories were not of the 'Debbie does Dallas' heavy porn category, they did contain quite a few mentions of erect penises, and it was for this reason that I deleted the conversations.

As I said in the email, this isn't from any desire to be censorial. We're a liberal lot here, but at the moment we do have a proportion of children in the audience, and we don't have closed or private forums.

There's a conversation in the Community Soapbox about this subject. Feel free to post and add to the discussion there... smiley - smiley

Hi PETA!
Thank you for taking the time to respond here. I have been following the "Adult Content" forum very closely, and appreciate that the issue was put up for community discussion. I haven't commented too often, as I assume it was put there to help you collect the input of the h2g2 community and set the standards here, rather than to address my specific issues. I imagine that h2g2 has evolved in some ways which have probably been a surprise to the corporation and you are dealing with things you had not initially forseen. I am also very impressed with what h2g2 has set out to do. I would hate to cheapen it or go against the wishes of the people who created it.

I did regain access to the email account a few days after the deletions, and got your message then. I also sent a reply, in which I addressed some personal concerns that I did not want to make public, as I might have been completely mistaken and didn't want to stir things up.

What I would like to do with the M.T. place has evolved since I started it. I would like to have an area for people to put their writing, and artwork, and maybe even original music if I can figure out how to do it. I have run across several researchers who felt that their contributions were dropping into a black hole, getting no response. And though they aren't the sort of thing that the edited guide is for, I don't think it devalues them. Though I'm not exactly a writer myself, I am very good at getting people's attention when I want to. And I'm very interested in how far the cyberworld can extend into the sensual realm. Is that the sort of thing the corporation wants to use their space on? Or should I just have a New Orleans style jazz funeral for M.T. and shut down the house?

Whatever your decision is, I will abide by it, though I would miss the wench! Have had a great deal of fun with her here!

Regards,

B.B.

Oh, PETA....

No disrespect intended, but REALLY! LOL!!!! An earth guide that doesn't allow erect penises! Why, can you imagine the earth without them??? Do you even WANT to??? And how that would change history, too, if so many important decisions hadn't been made with the little head in lieu of the big one! A story worthy of DNA, I think. And I thought you were looking for h2g2 to be a reflection of reality instead of a piece of fiction. The idea!

hehehe...still giggling at the absurdity...life sure is funny sometimes! Gotta love it smiley - winkeye

Regards,

B.B.
