Okay. My DSL has been a bit slow lately, so when I saw a banner ad for InternetBOOST I clicked in it. It turned out that it wouldn't work for DSL, so i hit the back button to return to the website I had been at. This caused a popup ad for Bonzi Buddy (or however you capitalize it) to appear. When I closed it, this made yet another one pop up! (From what I understand, this shouldn't be possible, as there isn't a closing event that can be captured by Javascript.) After getting over that bit of frustration, I managed to finally get back to surfing the Net in peace. The next time I started my browser, though, my home page was set to the Bonzi Buddy website! Internet Explorer is supposed to always prompt before setting your homepage, so I am somewhat disturbed by this apparent security hole. And, I couldn't find a suitable email address on either the Microsoft website or the Bonzi Buddy one to send a complaint to.
Oh well, I guess that's what I get for using a Microsoft product.

So, don't click any InternetBOOST banner ads.

I've noticed on my travels that although IE is required to prompt with a OK/CANCEL box, the message in the box is customisable. So some sites say things like 'Do you want to enter the coolest download site on the net?', and if you press OK then it enters the site and makes it your home page. And if you press CANCEL it enters the site anyway, but doesn't make it your homepage.
It is a bit dodgy though Microsoft products seem to be always full of security holes; the only way to plug them seems to be to download every single update the minute they are released. At work a couple of weeks ago we got hit by a virus; I thought it might be because our software wasn't up to date, and found that the download which patched the hole was available, but had only been put on the net a couple of days ago. Viruses move too fast for Microsoft's abilities!

There is... "onClose".
