Things slightly better at work today as no nasty surprises in the "could you just take on this project" department. Cleared some of the work from my desk but I swear there is a little person lurking underneath who, whenever a small space on the work surface appears and I'm not looking, slips a new file in to fill the gap.
Colleague had brainwave today - suggested that as I am already working 9 hour days Tue-Fri why not go back full-time but with a working pattern not including Monday. In other words stop working 38 hours and only being paid for 32. Will give this some serious consideration.
Slightly depressed about the election. Not so much that I might not get the Government of my choice ( am I allowed to say what that is before 10 pm tomorrow ) because that's how democracy works but by the number of ordinary voters appearing on radio etc. saying "why bother to vote - politics doesn't affect me" Do'h : NHS, Benefits, taxation etc who do they think makes the decisions on those things. Then there's - "I don't know who to vote for so I won't bother" brigade - in other words they can't be bothered to take responsibility for making a decision. Best
( most depressing ) "I'd vote if I could do it by text or on-line of all" - of course popping down to the local polling station every 5 years to pick up a stubby pencil and make a cross is a lot to ask ! MAKE THE EFFORT TO VOTE I SAY
I will vote on the way home from work. I always enjoy the experience - especially as this is a marginal constituency. My vote really does count.
