h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Very hectic day today. Arrived at work with a plan for clearing some of the stuff that's been on my desk for ages. However, all plans were thrown out of the window after reading first e-mail. Discovered I am now project leader charged with producing a plan on how to improve results by 20% - plan required by 20th May and as I have only 1 day in the office next week I was thrown into state of panic trying to arrange necessary meetings.

Also discovered I am part of project team charged with developing new ways of selecting case studies. Plan required by 20th May - more panic.

Arrived at work 8am left at 5.30pm with 10 mins for lunch but all work still on my desk in exactly same order a when I arrived. This is beginning to get out of hand. Management would be OK if there were no people in my team.

New security gate installed at home but must check whether needs another coat of paint as looks quite scruffy.

Mixed darts match tonight - I played substitute which is OK because my eyes are pretty tired. Team won tho' so I can claim to be the lucky mascot.

Was going to read psalm 88 in bed tonight but I think I will be sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. My eyes are closing now.

Nearly forgot : 25th anniversary of HKR winning cup. Will have quick drink before bed to celebrate.

I did get a good night's sleep so must be down to your good wishes.

I leave psalm 88 to you - it is something that Dagesh suggest I read to help with some personal problems.

HKR = Hull Kingston Rovers, the Rugby League team I have supported since knee high to a grasshopper. Celebration of 25 years since winning the Challenge Cup all the sweeter as the beaten opposition were arch rivals Hull.

NOMS = No More Smoking. I gave up the weed last Friday hence yesterday was NOMS + 5 days. I'll know Ive succeeded when I stop counting the days.
