May Day 2005

A day of two halves.
The weather was glorious this morning so I decided to go for a walk around the nature reserve. John Kettley said it would rain in the afternoon so I went about 10.30. Saw many of the usual suspects down there - swans, coots, great crested grebe, tufties, canada geese and mallards. Some smaller birds I didn't recognise but will look up on t'internet. Lots of ducklings and goslings. Don't think my "pocket digital camera" is up to the challenge so will investigate something better before the cruise. Stopped at the Riverside Club before coming home about 2.30.
John Kettley was right and it has been on and off torrential rain since about 4 pm. Strange dusty white deposit being left behind.
Ian McKellern in Corrie - can't believe he would ever lower himself to EEnders. Now that Katie has croked ( hoorah) Corrie has lifted. Sir Ian is rivalled only by young Chesney - a superstar in the making.
4th day without cigarettes - hoping to stop counting soon.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
