Here in this lovely town I live in, the school district rather likes subjecting its students to mental and physical harm by requiring them to take tests each semester, and (usually) requiring the teachers to count them. However, my English teacher decided not to count them for her seniors...
...and no one ever said we had to take the test SERIOUSLY...
Me and my friends (or is that "my friends and I"?) decided to give the district what they asked for; essays written in a combination of sixth-grade writing (simply out of spite) and AP-level analysis (out of sheer habit). Mine was one solid paragraph. That's it; that's all the prompt justified writing, and if I'd written any more I'd have started to repeat myself. It was also written in hot purple, mind you, and the prompt itself had rather lengthy rants written all over it as well. One friend wrote "So there." as the closing sentence. (That one was in green pen.) We had a mind to finally tell someone, at least this poor sheet of paper, how we felt about these terribly written essay prompts.
What do you expect when you ask an AP class to write in CP style for long enough, though?
To quote what all three of us wrote on the prompt:
"Blessed be the Union! Tis our last subjection to the horror and peril known forever as 'District Test writing prompts'!"
