OK - the more sensitive among you may need to look away at this point!
For breakfast today, I had blueberry pancakes (fresh blueberries and buttermilk), topped with fried bacon, and with maple syrup drizzled over the whole thing. I know - it sounds disgusting, but it was actually *really* good.
[Note for Martine - all the food packaging here is bilingual, so I discovered that buttermilk is 'babeurre' in French. I'd never heard this word before, but then I suppose I'd never really needed it either. Is it used in l'hexagone, or is it a purely Canadian usage?]
The Sunday roast we're having this evening will be bison - I'll let you know what it's like.

The word babeurre is obsolete now, it's more "lait baratté" I think, that is churned milk.
One cracker and the juice of an orange for you as a daily diet when you get back!

Annie,
I love breakfast pancakes. Not good for the waistline but a real treat for the taste buds !
Looking forward to hearing how you enjoyed the bison. Making a come back on the open plains of North America I understand as the only animal that can withstand the -50 degree winter temperatures. What comes round goes round.

The bison was good - very similar to beef. The joint we had was called sirloin tip, and my friend roasted it and we had it with roast potatoes and lots of other veg.
No further food reports at the moment - watch this space!
I posted a short travelogue in The Bull a couple of days ago (I think - it's difficult keeping track, what with being on holiday plus the time difference!) but nobody seemed to notice. Further instalments to appear in due course.

I keep my spare time for this place these days, apart from an incursion when Colette cropped up but I will read your travelogue asap...
