I prefer NexusSeven so I'm glad you changed back. "Scout & Muse of Dreams" is cool too- a H2G2 thing i assume? I must start participating more.
There are now less boxes and my headache is gone. Yay! My allergies are driving me batty though (dust and my landlord's cats)
Since you are responding on the weekend, does this mean that you have purchased a laptop? I'm told that PCs are pricy in Europe...
Alright- back to unpacking. Fun, fun, fun...

The weekend thing is down to the wondrous establishments that are Internet Cafes and the like; my laptop is currently on order (yay!) and is expensive enough for me to be deeply paranoid about it and it isn't even mine yet!
Glad to hear that things are settling down nicely - bummer about the allergies, though; I know *exactly* how you feel on that score...
'Scout & Muse of Dreams' is indeed an h2g2 thing: I am an official scout, which means that I look for interesting entries to put forward to the Peer Review Page, and from there, to recommend to the subs for inclusion into the Edited Guide. At the moment, there are about 30 of us snooping around for anything interesting, so if you think you've done anything that you would like the h2g2 community to peruse or you've found something that deserves mention, stick it on the PRP with why you think it deserves inclusion, and the URL to link to it (ie http://www.h2g2.com/A....).
The 'Muse of Dreams' bit is a little more esoteric; quite frankly, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with that, but hey, it sounds cool, so why not...
Happy Labour Day!

It'a a national holiday in Canada today. It's alway the first Monday in September and school usually starts the day after- I have orientation for my new program tomorrow, which is strange for me because I still can't believe that I was accepted into this school of international affairs. I wouldn't be surprised if I showed up at the school tomorrow and was told, "Oh- we were just kidding...we're much too exclusive to accept the likes of you." I'm convinced that I'm going to found out as an academic fraud any day now, because I start most of my essays two days before they're due and do my research as a I go along. I am definately not Master's material.
Back to Labour Day- Canadians rarely celebrate anything to do with the Labour Movement on this holiday, but we all seem to be aware of the age old adage- "You can't wear white pants after Labour Day." I think its a Federal offence.
Gald to hear the the laptop's on order. I would be paranoid about it as well- laptops seem mush easier to break than desktop PCs. I'm coming up on the one year anniversary of the purchase of my PC. I have named him Quin and he's been a very good computer thus far.
Congrats on being a Scout- You've intergrated yourself well NexusSeven, and may now commence preparations for the plan to take over H2G2- MUAHAHAHAHAHA! (evil laugh)
As for submissions, the only thing I've written that seems anything like to type of stuff found in the Guide is "The Canadian language" in my journal entries. Feel free to critique it if you wish. I haven't been reading much of other people's stuff lately, but I'll keep a look out.
My landlord's fifteen year old daughter had a party last night while her parents were away and I had to go upstairs and tell them to be quiet. I thought that I would be done with that sort of stuff when I stopped being a residence Don. I hope her parents don't ask me if she had a party because I don't want to squeal on her, but lying to her parents (old friends of my parents!) is not the sort of thing I want to do in my first week here. blah.
Hey! When you were younger, did you ever listen to "Bedtime Stories by Johnny Morris" on the BBC? He went around the London Zoo and said good-night to all the animals and he did all their voices. I just found my tape of the stories- I still have most of them memorized. My parents bought me the tape when went to London when I was five or six...I lived in Germany for four years while my father taught at a NATO Air Force Base (The Cold War is responsible for what happened to me during my formative years.)
Okay, enough nattering. I suppose I should get up and at them and enjoy my last day "off" for awhile.
Have a good day.
Happy Labour Day!

Johnny Morris (may he rest in peace ) rocked in ways that both kids and adults understand. He was the master of anthropomorphism, and even now, if I see an animal (especially my two dogs that live with my parents) making funny faces or just looking clever, I'll put on a JM voice and say aloud what I reckon it's thinking. My dogs (2 male whippets, the older called Whizz, the younger Max) are the best, because although they look smart, they are the most stupid animals imaginable. It's hours of fun 'providing the voices' for them...
Hope the rest of Labour Day and the orientation thing go well...
Nex...
