Fragilis - h2g2 Cured My Tabular Obsession

Well, the news came a little while ago that my company has decided to stop hosting webcasts. This is the product I support and which I helped to design and test, so there is a little sadness there.

But I honestly understand why it's happening. Money is tight in the telecommunications world right now, and there's just no way to complete the initial plans to expand the service into a full-featured product. We can't afford the programmers to do so. Instead, we've found a vendor who can offer our customers all the features they want right now. We'll form a partnership, and my job will end once the transition period is over.

At the end of August or early September, I'll be transferred to another office division about 15 miles away. I'll be part of a growing team of folks who run video conferences. I'll learn a bunch more about available technologies, and will probably enjoy the renewed chance to use my brain. They've even agreed to work with my shifting school schedule.

There was only one real surprise. When I found about about my product ending, my assumption was that I would finally move away from my ex. It's felt uncomfortable working beside him each day, though we remain friends.

Instead, I've found that his product has been yanked as well. He's now going to the same place I am.

It's not that I don't want to see him. It's just that I'd like to be able to choose the time and place. It's only natural to want a little distance at this time. And I thought I was going to get it. I really did.

Oh, well. There will be a period of about a month after he leaves where I will remain. That will have to do for now.

I think working together isn´t at all easy if you have or had a close relationship. Working and living together can be very helpful. You know the problems of the other, but the same reason can be counted for the oposit.

I hope you can find good terms for not getting emotionally muddled, when you want time for yourself...

Thanks, Engänder. If I've muddled through this far, I'll probably be okay in the future. It's just annoying.

*sympathy* I can so see that must be irritating.
