A Flick Of The Wrist

Today (well yesterday that is as it's now past midnight) I fell over and landed palm down on my wrist.
At first the pain was so intense that I thought I had broken it.
Luckily that wasn't the case.
Though I think that I have probably badly bruised it.
As I flex it and move it around I can feel that something isn't quite right and my shoulder is aching.
I may well have pulled a muscle or two (blimey I have muscles, now where did they come from)
Still a few days will tell and if the pain (it is now a dull ache)gets any worse or doesn't let off, I shall have it looked at.
Still that's what you get for loosing your temper with an inanimate object that refused to stay fixed.
Apart from that it's been a good day so I'm not down about it just thoughtful (it could have been a great day).

Yes, bike riders are very much prone to accidents. Be careful, you. Wet leaves in autumn ... horrible, or just wet crossover paths are very slippery especially in a curve or bent in the road.
I've witnessed a couple of times accidents in which motor drivers were involved. Luckily I was lucky that they were lucky and drivers were on their feet within a couple of minutes after lying prone on the road motionless . They scared the shit out of me! An hour afterwards my knees were still shaking, and I was just a witness.
I also knew and know some people who suffered from severe injuries and were in hospital for ages and afterwards never fully recovered.
Again, drive carefully.

I'd like to say that I had a spectacular crash but I wasn't on the bike when I hurt it.
I just fell over my own feet().
I have seen some pretty horrible crashes whilst driving and riding about.
The work that I do brings me into contact with patients some of whom are injured in vehicular crashes.
It is a sobering thought that no matter how carefull you are, your life is in the hands of the idiot behind you (or indeed the about to pull out on you).
Still the wrist is a lot better now, I hardly feel any discomfort and it was never bad enough to keep me from riding
