How did you do that? It's like all those Travelling Salesmen, who invite you to some little treat and you never know what you are getting. So I was invited to click - which I did - and I got into your journal.

Yes it's the same link. The button sends a pre-defined message, whereas the Guestbook lets you change the default message. The button is going to be disabled soon (actually, I was thinking it already was), because it could be misused to send 'bad' messages to Mark Moxon, for example.
