I just wish there was a way to make ICQ Panels quickly and simply in GuideML. Something like . Easy! Ahh well. Oh, and I'd like to see a list of recently visited entries, just like recently posted-to forums...

Want, want, want, want... LOL

If you have the code for an ICQ-panel in HTML, you can easily plug that in your GuideML page without any changes, and it would come out fine. You'd only have to make sure that all tags are paired. All single tags should be changed into tags, and the same for tags. Apart from that, it's fairly straight forward. I've done it once, and it wasn't a big deal at all. The only thing you might want to do is change the color-settings and some of the fonts.

yeah - that's pretty much what I did... problem was, the tag ignores width/height/border tags, so everything gets pink borders round it, which looks awful. Oh, and putting the /s at the end of x 100 BRs and IMGs looked too tedious to contemplate. Eventually I decided it wasn't worth the hassle, and did it myself... the pink borders are still there, but at least it forms an actual rectangle... smiley - smiley

thanks for the advice, though...

oh, I meant it disallows the width/height/border, not ignores it. "Unknown tag"...

OH yeah, that's true... some things it didn't do. The odd colors is something I got rid of by taking all color-tags out. It then created a panel in the standard H2G2 colors. And the repeated changes of tags were easily fixed with the find&replace option of an editor. You could even use that function to take all the invalid arguments out of the tags.

Anyway, it also works as it is now, so if you don't want to be bothered with all the hassle, why would you, eh? And to be honest, the panel that I used was quite different. It was really an offline messenger panel that I had. It had an input box, where people could type a message and a button to submit their input. Their message then popped up on my ICQ-list with a note that it was sent from my H2G2-page smiley - smiley
