...they're everywhere. Why, these very walls have ears...
Allegedly, my sisters are spying on me here on h2g2 - in my 'native habitat', as it where. It's a disgrace: I tells ya - it's not that I mind them spying - it's just that they might at least come up and say 'hi' to me... *mutters under breath*
I mean - that's just impolite, right?

Hello. I am spying. I haven't seen you around much lately, but then that might be due to the fact that my hard disk blew up and I couldn't get on the internet for 3 weeks.

Well, my university finals are coming up, so I've been kind of restricting my h2g2ing - I've been unsubscribing left right and center - but they'll be over in a few weeks - and then it's party time!

Ah... fun. I've got my first A-level on Wednesday. I'm (fairly) dead. I'm sure you'll be fine...
Had my lovely letter from UCAS today confirming that I'm not going anywhere... off to the Labour Party for me year out, then.

Well best of luck and all that - hope you do well! What does "off to the Labour Party" mean? Oh, and are you going to be making it to the Summer meet up this time round, or does Real Life intervene again?

(I liked the self referential entry!)

Summer meet up? When? Where? I damn well hope so. I've got to look after my siblings during the summer though, but if necessary I'll bring 'em with me (boy and girl - 5 and 10 respectively).
"Off to the Labour Party" means that I'm mad enough to spend my gap year working for the Labour Party in order to indulge my secret passion for party politics. Even though New Labour = Old Tory (ie. before the blues shifted to the far right)...
Good luck to both of you with your exams...

Hi Justine - nice to see another [url removed by moderator] person here...

Umm - that should be another cambridge person. The Cambridge Uni domain name is a slang term for residents of cambridge uni, and similar - pronounced kam-ack-uck - at least around compscis (people doing more reality enhanced courses probably are less silly like that). Other unis have similar terms, it seems.
Ho hum - one can't expect the moderators to know every piece of UK jargon, can one?

What? I don't understand. Why is [URL removed by moderator]"slang" ? And how come you know about Cambridge? actually, you must be a Cambridge student, because I dont think anyone else says "compsci".

I guess it's slang cos you won't find it in any dictionary... But yeah, I'm Cambridge too: Churchill - land of concrete
Key: Complain about this post
