A few days after shameless self publicity by Mr Adams on Radio 4 , I found myself totally bored in work . Haveing been programming hard for about 7 hours It suddenly occured to me , why not have a look at what he was talking about ? So here I am via Yahoo and DouglasAdams.com . I am still a bit suspicous , is this a genuine project , or an attempt by Mr Adams to get lots of new ideas from all over the world ? Lets take it on face value and proceed. Who knows where this may lead . In years to come dozens of the idle intelligensia may call this a useful resource , but then again there may be so many useful resources that there will be lots of conflicting evidence .I suppose this is how the quasi-scientists of economists , psychologists and social scientists like it ?

Welcome to the Guide!
I'm one of the Assistant Community Editors (ACEs) and part of our job is to say Hi to new researchers. The other part is to help, so if you hit problems either leave a note for me or any of the other ACEs - most of us have hadded ACE after our names.
I am sure that you will find your way around fairly quickly; click on the round logo at top left of the page to start in the right direction. Users IDs are usually live links to their home sites - feel free to browse mine for starters.
The etiquette here regarding joining existing forums is cool - just dive in (but read other entries in the forum first!) - unlike some places nobody will mind.
Although the Guide has a serious purpose, remember that it is supposed to be fun; hence places like the Aroma Cafe, the virtual beach site, etc.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
