Yeah. kind of. but I don't really buy it. I'm sorry. there is NO way I could say i hate black people without a lawsuit. How is that freedom? It isn't. I don't, incidentally.
And NYC, please. I really hope you didn't mean it about revolution. If you want to change society, becoming some kind of smelly, dreadlocked eco/anti capitalist terrorist does not work. You just get laughed at by the big plutocrats. You need to work from within. Not to bring down the system, I might add, but to change it for the better. And socialism is just capitalism under a different name, and with exactly the same amounts of corruption, but in different ways. And don't even try to peddle communism, because it is worse. Dont get me wrong, I'm not some kind of proto yuppie i the making, i just see the futility of even trying to make a change in what we've got. It won't work, not without human nature changing dramatically.
And while I'm having a gop at you sea, this Straight Edge philosophy is just as self indulgent as deviant edge in its own way. sXes are in it because of peer pressure and pretentiousness and for the image just as much as anyone else is. Its not about the damage, its about the fact that they can feel superior to anyone who doesnt do what they do. so in moderation, I say.

isn't it? how would you know?
how is the refusal to PARTAKE in "popular" activities a result of peer pressure? last time i checked, i made that decision myself. no one told me to.
as for the "image", what image is applied to sXe's that i would want? let's see... "prude". nope. don't really want THAT label. "snob". nope. don't really want that one either. "pretentious". hmm. not liking that one either. "priss". i think not. so what would that image be again?
while we're on the pretentious topic, why would i want to poison my body with alcohol and drugs? my body is a temple. i respect it. i don't need that stuff to have a good time. i see no point to it. how is that pretentious?
did i already tell you my first reason for being straight edge? i think i told gigus/miles and NYC, but i can't recall if that was in a forum where you were present.
it's because of date rape. plain and simple. i DON'T need to put myself into a dangerous position like that. the world is a scary place, filled with guys who are desperate to get laid. as a female, i need to protect myself.
while we're on the topic, might i add that there is NOTHING less attractive than someone who is retching his/her guts out in a bush at a party...

My point wasnt necessarily directed at you, because from what I know, you dont seem that sort. My diatribe was against other straight edges who do do it for those reasons. I respect your date rape suggestion, but I know few, if any people who would do that.
The retching aspect is a downside, it must be said, but I've grown out of the need to get paralysingly drunk. An evening out with friends in a pub is much more fun, tho, when your all a little drunk. And as a social aide, dutch courage? smutch courage. As i believe the saying goes...

Are you trying to say a revolution is pointless?! Just what planet do you live on?! The only social reform IN this country happened BECAUSE of riots and protests! Read up on your history, man!
And don't even TRY to tell me that socialism is bad. Every Scandinavian country and Switzerland is working under a Socialist Democracy, and they have the best public services in the WORLD. Free health care, free schooling, more than adequate welfare; there is essentially a complete lack of poverty in these countries. Argue THAT, you twit.

Cool it, brother. We live, in Britain under a socialist party.Who are exactly the same as the the party which is on the right. And revolution never works. ever. evereverever. So there.

Yes. but that was before the time of armed violent police and tear gas.

France would beg to differ. As would every nation to spawn out of the former Soviet Union, and that includes Russia.

Since when did THAT compute?
We've had riots before. There was a riot in every major city every year between 1964 and 1976, DESPITE military intervention. There were riots in NYC as recently as 79, 92, and 96. NYC tried to secede from the state, TWICE.
Reagan was shot at. JFK was killed. But obviously, since you have not actually HEARD of such instances, they didn't REALLY happen...

OK OK. calm down, I dont want to argue American history andf politics here, its all too depresseing. I just believ that armed rebellion achieves nothing but negative stuff
There's more to life. not found it yet, but I'll keep trying...

all i have to say is that you have to fight for what you want, because no one is going to fight for you.
but i agree, politics are a depressing subject that is better left alone.

dont fight. just roll over and give up. it'll have the same effect, but be less exhausting

Oni? You actually downloaded Oni?! cool...
All you really have to do is: When you see somebody, punch and kick until they're down. OH, and try not to fight more than one at a time. Also, you're given a gun for a reason...
