...to describe my morbid hatred for German. What an abysmal language. I'm endeavouring to write another thin and grammatically indistinct essay on die Judenbuche even as i type this, and i have lost all the will to live. Why, God? why does this language have to have gutteral inflection, archaic grammar and stupid, limiting vocabulary? Why is my dictionary so rubbish? Why can't German be French? Why dont any universities ive applied to seem to care that I already have an a level and let me drop this damn subject? Gah! note that Germans are all fantastically lovely people. for the most part

It doesn't help that the German that taught at GCSE, A level and beyond is an obscure mix of classical German (circa 17/18 Century) and modern words not yet absorbed into dictionaries. Personally I think it is a conspiracy created by both the textbook manufacturers and Linguaphone in order to boost sales of their language resource products.
I also found French was almost as bad, but to a lesser degree.

chose it? of course i chose it! once upon a time i was a precoscious brat of a thirteen year old wondering around boasting how id do 5 A levels instead of the then required three and stuff like that. *how i shudder*

Many of my best friends did five theFOOLS but I stack with the basic minimum plus General Studies, where farting through your mouth can earn you a C grade.
