h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

So I just submitted my first guide entry. It is about war http://www.h2g2.com/A326918 . This is mainly because in Germany there is currently a big public discussion about the future of the army (Bundeswehr) in times of military safety and fiscal troubles.

People nowadays tend to suppress aggression the same way they suppress oldage and desease. For instance it is a most common view in Germany to be against the army and at the same time encourage people interested in a military career to enlist. The work of an army is considered dirty work (like a butchers), so people push it away towards those who don't mind. I don't consider it a good sign that the aggressive side of being human is being suppressed. Outbursts of aggression will become less managerable this way. We should learn to live with aggression and control it instead of ignoring it.
