It's hard to have an intellectual discussion about crab legs.
I mean, are they humane? The crabs are BOILED ALIVE. They are still ALIVE when you start to cook them. But on the other hand, is that really a worse way to go than, say, being crushed over the head with a hammer? But still... they're put into a pot... ALIVE.
I mean... well. I don't know. They're good to eat, though.

Yeah...I'm a shameless carnivore.
Well, pretty shamefull actually, but I savor the end result of that creature's pain in butter sauce. The best way to think about it is..It's just a big sea spider and spiders get stomped all the time.
GNAMMNAMNAMNAM...*chomp* *slurp* *smack* good.

I've decided that Andy and I are going to Shaws Crab House here in Chicago for my birthday. Of course, that could change, but I have such a craving...I don't think it will.
Where's the place you know of, oh great New York boy?

Is it just down the street? I bet it's just down the street.

there is actually a place right down the street...
but I was thinking of Lundy's in SheepsheadBay, brooklyn...
Do you know they invented the lobster bib? (or at least that's what the menu says)

Hmmmm... One wonders how they could prove that. I mean just plain bibs have been around forever, right? Lobsters are pretty messy to eat. One could just picture some sort of New York caveman with an animal skin tied around his neck, bashing lobsters with a rock. Who's to say he didn't paint a lobster onto his bib with goats blood, just so he could remember what that bib was for?
I'm highly dubious.

Well, that what the menu says, and I believe everything I read on menus.

Me too. That's why I always get so depressed at the 'no sharing' restaurants... it's just such a dreary metaphor. And so broad and sweeping. Definitely a menu written by a true and incurable cynic. It's all very sad.

Yeah, didn't that guy's mother explain that it's not nice to not share?
There's this Ethiopian restaurant I went to where the menu said something was "sauteed in bitter" I'm guessing they meant butter... but you know, I believed them and I'd rather not take my chance...

I know a place where you should never never believe what's on the menu and you should never never eat there.
Taco Loco.
My stepdad, who will eat anything in the whole world, ate there and was sick for days. I wouldn't even buy a can of soda there.
