Vows and fireworks
Spaceboy Zoom Started conversation Jul 5, 2000
The wedding was... well... a wedding. Actually it was the most efficient wedding I've ever been to. Ever see "Joe vs. the Volcano"? (one of my favorite movies) When they get married, and the chief says "Do you wanna marry her? Do you want to marry him? Ok, you're married" It was like that... and the reception was fun, but not overdone (I've been to too many huge italian weddings). The best part of the wedding was when the bride arrived atthe chapel and realized she had forgotten the license at the hotel. So Amy and I hopped into my car, raced to the hotel, raced back, and the wedding proceeded... We laughed at how we couldn't be late now, because it couldn't start without us. And the couple who got married were so happy when it was all over, and I'm sure they'll have a great life together... but I can't get a grip on them being married yet... I think they are just playing, you know... oh well...
But I got back to see the fireworks here in NY (the wedding was up in Fort Drum, near the Canadian border). A bunch of us walked across the walkway on the Triboro bridge that separates Queens from Manhattan over the East River, and is a couple of blocks from my apartment. It was a great place to watch the show, you could see all the way down the river, and even the fireworks on the other side of manhattan. It was pretty darn cool...
but here I am, a four day weekend and still not happy to be at work.

OOOooo that sounds like a lovely 4th! I wasn't about to venture down to the fireworks here in Chicago. We get record numbers of people and every year I've gone I've loved the fireworks, but the ride home is a living nightmare. Last year the works were over at 10pm and I didn't get home till almost one in the morning.
They looked pretty on TV though!
When I lived in DC you never would catch me missing the fireworks, though. Something about being in a Country's Capital city on it's annual celebration...it's wonderful.
I'm also not excited to be back at work, BUT, my boss IS here so there's stuff to do so the day is actually moving forward some.

I know I've asked you this before... but what is it you do?
(and yes, I agree about the hassle of getting home from the fireworks... luckily I live so close to the bridge it was the perfect spot... a little scary being up that high though...)

Ahhh... right now I'm an Executive Administrative Assistant (read: Secretary) to pay the bills. I haven't decided what I'm going to be in life yet.
I'm thinking that in a bit I might actually try and get some use out of that acting degree I aquired. But don't hold me to that.

Hey, there are worse things to do...
Acting eh? Maybe I'll have to introduce you to a director-type friend of mine who lives in chicago when I'm there...
Hmmm... I should tell him I'll be in town...

The thing is I'm GOOD. I'm really good. I just can't stand the materialism and superficiality of the business. Everybody lies. I love love LOVE acting...I hate hate HATE actors.
It's a tricky business. I've been acting since I was 9 years old and I just couldn't stand the politics anymore. I tend to be a straightforward person and there are just too many egomaniacs in the business to hate the guts out of, if you know what I mean.

Ahhh, screw'emall!
you shouldn't let the bastids keep you from doing what you want to do! The more you want something, the more people are going to try to screw it up for you...

Yeah, unfortunatly it's impossible to avoid the bastids. The bastids have all the money and the power and you have to pucker up and kiss some major bastid bootay if you want to make it in the business.
I want to act, but not that bad.

Well...that's pretty much my focus right now. I want to live in LONDON...I want to be with ANDY ... arrrrggggg!!!
Life is so messed up right now I'm trying to concentrate on one thing at a time. I'm kind of thinking ahead by 3 days...that's it.

Spaceboy Zoom Posted Jul 13, 2000

It's not your fault. He's in Umbria at the jazz festival right now and I want to be there 'cause all the families of the band memebers are there and he really wanted me to be there except he brought it up 4 days ago and a ticket to Rome is 2,000 dollars and I can't get there and I'm surly about it.
Also I'm sick which lowers the old patienceomieter quite a tick.
Do you mind if I ask how old you are?

Spaceboy Zoom Posted Jul 20, 2000
*sigh* sorry about the whole umbria thing...
money sucks, eh? or more specifically- lack of money sucks

Hmm... how old do you think I am?

Classic Krissy Posted Jul 21, 2000
Oh no. A guessing game. I'll go with.....27.
Yep, lack of money is pretty much the cause of all my misery. You don't have any you don't need by any chance, do you?

Spaceboy Zoom Posted Jul 21, 2000
24 actually...
how about you? (now that we're sharing)
Hmm, if I had extra money I'd gladly give it to you... but I've never met anyone with extra money... one of the strange ugly properties of the stuff- never enough

Your turn. How old do you think I am?
I know. It seems like every time I get any cash it's already spent. VVVVJJZJZJZJIP! Out the door it goes. I did almost all of my travelling over the past year on credit cards. Now those are full. Ahh well Maybe I'll start babysitting again.

Spaceboy Zoom Posted Jul 21, 2000
Hmmm...
I'll say 24, because that's safe... yes, you won't think that I think you're younger or older than me, and any of the negatives that might come with that... Yes, in fact we have the same birthday.

Classic Krissy Posted Jul 21, 2000
