In the last couple of weeks, I have had four of my children/grandchildren admitted to hospital for various thingssmiley - ill
The first one was my four year old grandson. He went to hospital for 10 days with pneumonia. He's doing smiley - ok now, but it is always a worry for me that he stays healthy. He was a preemie, and has had lung difficulties in the past.
Two days after he came home, his mom (Rebecca) was admitted to hospital in an emergency situation. She had gotten some routine tests, and it was discovered she is an insulin dependant diabetic who presented with absolutely no symptoms. Her blood sugar levels have been extremely erratic, and not easily regulated, so for a week she had to be monitored in the geriatric ward, where all of the other patients were 2 and 3 times her agesmiley - laugh
Then my 8 month old grandson was admitted to hospital with croup. Since there wasn't any room for him in a ward, and he was being treated in the hallway anyway, they released him the next day. Three days later, however, he was back in with a worse case, while his mom (Tabitha) was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Last tuesday the kids' dad had surgery on his right leg, and needed someone to care for him a couple of days after the surgery. I, of course, went down to the city every time someone was admitted to hospital, just to make sure everything was going to be smiley - ok The kids' dad is doing great now, and can manage on his own.
Then, on friday, Rebecca was again admitted to hospital with ketones in her urine, vomiting, bronchitis, and general malaise. She had had to have her insulin adjusted yet again, and this prescription is not covered by insurancesmiley - yikessmiley - grr. So, she has had to spend $200 of her tuition money on drugs that keep her alive. She will apply for exceptional drug status, but that could take up to a monthsmiley - groan
In taking care of everyone, plus two more smiley - sheep, I got run down, and have been sufferingsmiley - ill through bronchitis and extreme fatiguesmiley - puffsmiley - zzz
I talked to Mr. O's parents on the phone the other day. They are coming back from Florida in a couple of weeks, and I will be so glad to see them. They said that the didn't find me a , but they're sure something will w*rk out.smiley - grovel I'm sure smiley - brokenheart about him, aren't Ismiley - huhsmiley - drool
I'm on the mend now.smiley - ok Having fun with the two new smiley - sheep.
I just can't seem to get the hang of this being alone thing.

Oh my goodness, your poor family! Let's hope this spell of ill health is followed by a long period of health for all! Hope Rebecca gets that exceptional drug status.
