I was feeling guilty for not having gone out to muck around in the snow so far this winter. This may be our last big accumulation this winter and I was just sitting there looking at all of the snow thinking about how pretty it all was and blah, blah, blah. So I tore apart the closet getting all of the "keep me warm and dry" essentials, one of those earwarmer headband things, gloves, boots and a fuzzy enough scarf that I am intermittenly picking pieces of it out of my mouth. I was ready to make a snowman. I did a fabulous job. Buddy had everything, a glove-sculpted face, a bottle of water (how 90's US), a hat and a thing holding bird seed. Way proud of myself. And then about the sixth time I went to look at my wonderful interprtation, he was toppled. So tomorrow I will go at it again. And this time I'm taking a hose.

But Chi-Gal the 90s are so passe, that was the last decade
Couldn't you find some way to bring your snowman into the 21st century? After all us brits are just having fun with all the various snowmen postings from across the pond. Casue we have no snow really worth talking about.

All right DD, here's how exciting the my snowman of the 21st century is. He melted completely away today. We're having a warm spell in the upper 50's. I don't know what that is in centigrade I'm afraid. He was a ragtag looking thing anyhow. But he was mine! I guess I'll just have to mourn for my snowman for a little while. Saddened me, Chi-Gal

I'll mourn in sympathy
And for all the snowmen of my youth, as I haven't seen enough snow in about 9 years to make one.

9 years! Now that is sad! And here I've been all these years with abounding snow. Now I can only think of all the snowmen I could have made and didn't. I appreciate your condolences on my snowman and I'll mourn for your lack of. This could become a pity party.

Well 9 years ago I should have been near Springfield Il. for a friends wedding over Christmas unfortunately I was unable to get the money together to go.
But that winter we did get snow here, and snowman making we did go.

I've been to Springfield once. That would be about eleven years ago. I don't remember much but I do remember rubbing Abraham Lincoln's nose. On a statue of course. It's supposed to be lucky but now I think of all those nasty germs.
As for snowmen, none in the forseeable future. It's been in the 60's here and I'm not complaining. Anyway it's going to be in the 40's tomorrow so back down we go. Maybe there will be some more snowmen. What with the lunatic weather I might be making snowmen in July.

I hope I'm not that is the height of the outdoor bowling season. I have once played a game when snow came on but that was in April. Anyway 6 1/2 weeks before I have to play out in the cold again. I' really looking forward to that.
