h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I just registered today, and i immediately looked up New York city, which is where i live. some of the entry was not very nice to new yorkers, and the rules said something about no harm of any kind to any group or individual. i just though that maybe that should be brought to someones attention

I'm really sorry to hear that the first thing you read on the site upset you. Coming across your posting prompted me to read the New York City Approved Guide Entry, and I can see why you might have been offended. I imagine that you were unhappy about the comments regarding New Yorkers being somewhat conceited and opinionated.
With respect, I think that you may have taken these remarks a bit too literally. I really don't think that such obvious generalisations could have been meant to be taken entirely seriously. It is absolutely true that the rules of h2g2 forbid inciting hate against individuals or groups of people, but it would be a very bland and dull site if any adverse comments at all about anyone or anything were banned.
However, if you want to respond to or complain about the Entry, there are two ways you can do so. Firstly, you could respond to it on the Entry's page itself, by starting a Conversation headed "Unfair To New Yorkers" or somethoing similar.
Alternatively, you can contact the site's Editor Mark Moxon and make your feelings known to him. http://www.h2g2.com/U13 is where you'll find his homepage - and Mark should certainly know just what you're talking about since he personally edited the NYC Entry.
Once again, I'm sorry that you were upset, and I hope you find a lot of other things here at h2g2 that you like a lot better.

Oh, I know that whoever it was didn't mean anything by it, but one of my hobbies is nitpicking, so I had to bring it up.

Perhaps you could write a Guide Entry on "The Joy Of Nitpicking"!
