Oooh, Hello IanG,
Welcome to my page
I haven't spoken to you before..
So how did you end up here?
Anway - Are you being sarcastic?
I hate Buffy, but I guess you like it?
No offence to anybody who likes it but I
just think it's so fake, and it's not becasue
I don't believe in vampires, and you can't say
that I don't believe in them cuz I watch the X
Files don't I?
And if anyone does watch the x files, then talk
to me about it...

Sarcastic? Umm... Well, just silly really - I noticed that you'd said you disliked Buffy, and then in your Forum you'd drawn your face as a vampire. OK, so it didn't really work as a joke, but you have to try.
How did I end up on your page? Well when I'm reading forums, if someone I don't know posts to a thread I'm interested in, I tend to go and have a look at their page, maybe see if I'm interested in any of the other stuff they've been talking on - seems like if someone's interested in one thing I've been looking at, then I might be interested other things they have to say!
I find Buffy fun. There are loads of people who think it's the best thing ever, but I'm not one of them. I just think it's entertaining, mostly because it deliberately pokes fun at the whole culture that it's a part of (which, incidentally, I don't think has anything to do with vampires - strange though it may sound I really don't think that's what Buffy's about), and I always like that kind of thing.

Hey, oh so you weren't being sarcastic?!?
I have a few friends that think Buffy is
the best thing in the world, but I personally
prefer shows like the x files, have you ever seen that??
So anywayz... Tell me about yourself!

*digs out dictionary to make sure*
"sar'casm n. bitter or wounding ironic remark" Well I really *hope* I wasn't being bitter or wounding! If so, sorry! Ironic maybe...
For some reason I've only seen a very few episodes of the X Files. I suspect when it first appeared on UK TV it was on a night when I was usually doing something else, so I never really got into it.
So, about myself? I would suggest you look at my home page here on h2g2, only most of that's made up. OK, in brief, I'm male, 26, I live in Cambridge (but as you know from another forum I work in the US quite a lot), for my job I spend half the time working with computers and the other half of the time teaching other people about computers, for fun I love comedy, music (almost made music my career, but decided I'd be happier keeping it as a hobby), good food, good wine, chatting, and I have an unfortunate habit of spending too much money on cars.
And yourself?

Miss Jeni Posted Jun 12, 2000
Well, I'm 14 live in Essex want to live
in chicago want to be a doctor in America
somewhere, preferably Chicago.
I love music and some tv. Still at school
and for more info, look at my homepage which
is up there somewhere!
It doesn't matter if you were or weren't
being sarcy or ironic. Let's not get in to
that again

Hey Jonl, it's great to meet you and welcome to h2g2!!
Yeah - this is the way we pass messages around, this funny things are called forums and we reply to them to leave messages, on your page you can write your own for people to reply to!
So you're American?!? That's great, I've never actually heard of
Coggeshall, do you know where in Essex it is?
What's Australia like, Essex isn't that great, that's why I want to live in America! Have you been to the other forum, my one about the states? I'll have to go and check it!
Oh well, thanx for the teeth comment!
Feel free to hang out here and just be chilled!

Hey! ... hmmm, that name's pretty long ... Trinity? Jeni? Trini?
Thanks for the greeting and the info ... Nice to meet you too
I think Coggeshall is pretty close to Colchester - sort of off to the left a bit.
Australia is pretty good - lots of open spaces and some really nice beaches, surf and
stuff like that ... it's a little like the US in some ways - LOTS of US TV programs (but there are so many ads it's almost unwatchable) and strip malls ... and suburbs! (altho I think the whole population of Australia is about the same as the population inside the M25)
I haven't seen your US forum yet - I'll check it out.
Thanks, I'm chilled

At one point the daily viewing figures for Neighbours in the UK were higher than the total population of Australia! Somehow that's rather depressing...
Vampires...
Miss Jeni Posted Jun 13, 2000
Yeah - I'm quite near to colchester!
So what happens in Coggeshall?
The only Australian things we get on tv are thingss like Neighbours and all that, none of which I watch
Trini's a good idea, if you think Trinity (aka Jeni X) is long you should check out some of the other names going around here! some of them are so long they take up 2 lines - you can just call me Trini though of you like!
Speak to you soon - Trinity

Hiya Trini My somewhat eccentric step-Godmother (really!) moved to a house she bought there recently and I might stay there next time I'm in England. Last time I was there ('97)
she was at a place called Swallowfield not far from Reading and I was up the Thames a bit at Streatley (which I thought was really nice - and was only about a 1/2 hour away from
Paddington station).
Uh, I haven't really been able to get into Neighbours or those other Aussie programs either ... heh heh, I guess they're an acquired taste
Oh yeah, I've seen names like avenging_angel_from_a_little_known_planet_just_a_little_up_from_the_big_purple_one_where_fred_usually_hangs_out . Your's (with the aka 'n all) is a _lot_ shorter.

Hi Jonl, Please tell me how old you are
I just want to know, so that I don't look stupid.
Yeah Well, I was going to make my name a long one
but I decided not to, cuz I know that really annoys
me when people do that so I decided not to annoy
everyone else
Anyway - I don't really watch any of that on tv,
it's so fake you know?
And I would just like to say it took me 30 minutes
to actually log on here, cuz I'd forgotten my e-mail
address and password and everything and now I'm
really happy to be here!

Hi Trini, you don't look stupid becoz you
clearly aren't so I wouldn't worry too much
about that bit ... awwww, I'll tell ya ...
real soon
I'm in NZ now - I thinked I walked for about
5 hours today (part of a serious hanging out
strategy)
heh heh, yeah I had the same problem trying
to log in from a different place - well, I thought
I'd remembered the password
Hmm, did you say what you did watch (on TV)?

Did I ay what I watch on tv?
You've got a bug - Just like in MIB
Has anyone else seen that film recently, it's real good
TrinEMT (for now)

jonl Posted Jun 25, 2000
It's a while since I saw that ... there was a _big_ nasty thing in that
wasn't there (at the end). My bug was smaller and went away without
much of a fight ... so the galaxy is safe again
