The Car Man

Matthew Bourne has done it again with the latest production from the Adventures in Motion Pictures (AMP) dance company, who brought you the all male Swan Lake.

The Car Man uses new orchestrations of Bizet's score for Carmen to give us a story of heat and passion in small town America. The plot rattles along providing thrills, passion, humour and eroticism with a few unexpected twists. The set is skillfully evocative and the choreography uses it brilliantly. I was entertained from start to finish, my only regret being that with so much action at times I couldn't watch all the dancers at the same time. Perhaps a good excuse to go and see it again smiley - smiley.
