h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Members of the U.S.S. Sagan attended United FanCon IX which took place during the weekend of Nov. 5th, 6th, and 7th.
Special guests included Robert Picardo - "The Doctor" on Star Trek: Voyager, Sarah Sutton - "Nissah" on Dr. Who, Lisa Howard -"Captain Lila Marquette" on Earth Final Conflict, and Stephen Austin -an alien ambassador on Babylon 5.
Robert Picardo was extremely entertaining in his stories of the set of Voyager as well as his story of auditioning at first for the character of Neelix and then being hired on the spot for "The Doctor" when he ad-libbed "I'm a doctor, not an night-light." Robert also auctioned off several signed Voyager and Ali McBeal Scripts and photos to benefit children with AIDS.
Sarah Sutton was charming as well as entertaining speaking of her time on Dr. Who. She told a number of stories about filming including one about a guest star who had quite a hangover during the filming, and then had to run several miles.
Lisa Howard is a calm and collected speaker who is quick to smile and does not take herself too seriously. Like the others she had stories from the series she has been involved in.
Also scheduled for the convention was a presentation to Fleet Captain Mike Martel as Federation Citizen of the Year. Fleet Captain Martel is a plank-holder of the U.S.S. Sagan and her former Captain.
