Meandered on in to pay a visit and what to my wondering eyes should appear...a poem about spiders, the thing I most fear!
I won't sleep tonight. Or tomorrow for sure. They'll climb out of the vacuum and into my bed. Sleep is the thing I now most dread.
(the words to the poem are familiar though...where do I know them from?)

Not a spider, a spiderman! I.E. some type of person like that froopy guy in the comic books. And that poem is the lyrics of Lullaby, written by Robert Smith, of the Cure

Hmm... talking spiders. Wish I had one... that way I might be able to make a little money.

Well, my goodness. If there can be spidermen, certainly talking spiders must exist. But, you would have to be very careful with a talking spider. The goose that laid the golden egg might come by to eat it.
Did you know that a search on Google for "Sporkulious Eglon" comes up with only two hits?

Researcher 99947 Posted May 20, 2000
REally? I should hope there would only be 1. Indeed, I am the only Sporkulious Eglon, and the only Sporkulious for that matter

Researcher 99947 Posted May 20, 2000
Actually, I found all of them. And they're all my pages *do a search for just sporkulious*

Wow! I really like the art work on the Crosswinds page. Mind you...I haven't any basis for liking it. Perhaps it just surprised me because I was thinking you are a philosopher and not an artist. Not that philosophers aren't artists....
Anyways...the whole reason I did the original search was because I wanted to see if your name had some kind of historic/literary/cultural connection. But you don't. At least yet. Maybe some future h2g2er will take your name and s/he will say "I call myself 'Sporkulious Eglon' as in the famous Sporkulious Eglon from the early 21st century."

quite possibly. However, 1/2 of my name does have quite a bit of significance, although, not to me

Forgive me. I am a bit lost. Try again? Meaning "eglon" isn't the part of your name that has significance? Surely it cannot be the "spork" part. Those utensils are not quite inspirational.

To some they are. I just meant that Eglon does not refer to a mining town
