I have given serious thought to the purchase of a new car or perhaps a suit in honor of my coming out. Will this be appropriate? Is there a bricks and mortar sort of place that I come and celebrate my most excellent good fortune?

The perfect spot would be the Merry Maidents, Cornwall, at sunrise. Despite the name, however, you should not expect your lifespan to be increased significantly. There are other nearby places where that might happen--St. Ives or Penzance, perhaps.

Anywhere in Cornwall would be tops for celebrating my good fortune! A place with merry maidens to boot would not be shabby either.

I learned this morning that the luau that I have done for years at the pool in Eclipse is happening today. Life goes on. Driving 20 miles west--and thru a timewarp into the past--does not rise above the desire for luau pig and friendship and beer.

geezer3, I hope you keep your eyes firmly fixed on a UK celebration, whether in Cornwall or somewhere else, perhaps in a narrow boat or in a hot air balloon, on the mainland or on an island, in a castle or in a cathedral--for such a celebration CAN be yours if you let it happen! Remember past Grand Adventures that happened even when you thought they mightn't. Neppah sgniht stel evol! Your celebration won't be a luau to which you won't be invited!
