A4572678 I've not put any links in yet, mainly because the ones on hootoo are the ones I'm currently updating. Unfortunatly there is not much info on Uniform for the Senior Section, which is why I have left that out

I think it's a great start! Here are some ideas for rounding it out a bit.

For each section, I would explain at the beginning when that section started -- after all, it makes much more sense to see that the Rainbow uniform bit starts in the mid-80s if you know that the Rainbow programme is a pretty recent addition to Guiding.

Are there any links to pictures of uniforms you can include? That would be awesome. Oooh, here are some I like:

I know here in the US, many people collect old uniforms, and you can buy old ones on eBay. I have an interesting collection of old uniform catalogs, actually -- which is cool, as I have no interest in actually owning all those uniforms, but I think it's fun to be able to show the girls what uniforms their mothers, grandmothers, etc., wore. They always get the biggest kick out of the uniforms from my era, actually -- they were pretty funky.

Am I supposed to know what a gilet is, by the way?

Oh, and so you can be thoroughly horrified, here's a picture of what my first Junior Girl Scout uniform looked like: http://www.excitementmachine.org/jc/scouts/4.html

Because of the schedule on which GSUSA changed the uniforms, we went through two official uniform sets when I was a Brownie, two when I was a Junior, and three while I was a Cadette/Senior. My mom was pretty firm about just keeping whatever I had unless I'd outgrown it, but I knew some kids who had to get the new uniform as soon as it came out, even though their 'old' ones were actually new! Parents here grumble about this a lot, as it makes it really awkward to hand down uniforms over siblings -- although my sister did wear my old Brownie uniform, and just didn't care that it was actually several uniform changes back by that point.

Ahhh... You might want to add a footnote that what you're calling a gilet is known just as a fleece vest in many other parts of the English-speaking world.

All I think it needs at this point is a short introduction for each section before you dive into the bullets -- what you have for the Rainbows would be fine, for example. Once you have that for the other sections, it's ready for PR!

Why do you hate PR, you think? Is it having so many people at once point out things that need work in the entry?

Well, one thing to think about then is that usually when that happens, it's not that people haven't read what you've said before -- it's that they have a different perspective, and are coming to different conclusions than you are.

One thing I will sometimes do in a situation like that on a PR thread where I'm the author is to ask some questions of the person posting -- both to try to figure out where they're coming from, and so that they don't feel like I'm just brushing off their opinion.
