Hi Mikey,
Many thanks for your comments about my US rail travel piece in Peer Review. I take your point about the cost of trains versus air travel and will try to make things clearer. A rail pass (available to non-US citizens) can still make Amtrak a bargain but I guess you need to enjoy the actual experience of being on board, and have plenty of time. Not sure of the protocol, but is it okay also to incorporate some of your positive reasons for rail travel in my revisions?

Yup, that's what Peer Review comments are for -- feel free to incorporate away!
There is a rail pass US citizens can get, but it's pretty pricey. At one point, there was a "North America" rail pass you could buy that included long distance trains in both the US and Canada. I don't know if those are still available, but if they are, they might be worth mentioning in the entry.
