This is the Message Centre for Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

Just thought I'd stop by... Have a mufflewhump!

No news on the coming-to-SLC front yet... Except that Tom's not sure he wants to head there "Just to see a couple of people." It *is* roughly 900 miles, and that's coming what looks to be the most direct routesmiley - sadface I don't suppose I could get a few tips on touristy-type stuff? Especially stuff that works well with a likely-to-be-5-year-old in tow? (Figured you'd be a better one to ask about kid-friendly stuff than Marv would besmiley - winkeye) I'm leaning a bit on the fact that not only is the family that offered us the open invitation there, but also a family that Tom's not seen since we graduated in December of '99! I met them once or twice, but Tom knew the husband really well. And of course Ive pointed out that a couple of my h2g2 friends are there, as well. He's pretty open to h2g2 folks--tac (did you know tacsatduck? He's not been on in awhile...) came out the summer before last and stayed the night, and he and Tom got along great.

Of course, even with full interest on everyone's part, any long driving trip is contingent on getting the use of a vehicle with decent gas milage. Cheapest gas here is $4.05, and it's only Maysmiley - sadface I've been trying to think up an excuse to go to Brookings, 25 miles away, across the Oregon border--gas is "only" $3.65 there.

Anyway, I'd better go. Talk to you later!

Sorry! I really wish these messages would show in the regular conversation area.

Anyway, family friendly things to do in Salt Lake all depend on the ages of the kids and how much you want to spend.

Discovery Gateway - http://www.childmuseum.org/- This is located in the Gateway shopping mall. It is a hands on type of scientific museum.

Clarke Planetarium - http://www.clarkplanetarium.org/

Lagoon - http://www.lagoonpark.com/- Amusement park, a little on the pricey side, especially if you buy food there. Lots to do and is fun.

Boondocks - http://www.boondocksfuncenter.com/public/draper/ - Also a little pricey but a lot of fun!

Tracey Aviary and Liberty Park - http://www.tracyaviary.org/

Wheeler Farm - http://www.wheelerfarm.com/ - A hands on farm.

If you are in Park City at all there is the Alpine Slide and the Heber Creeper. http://www.parkcitymountain.com/summer/index.html and http://www.hebervalleyrr.org/

I hate when that happens! J and I had to cancel our Memorial Day plans because of finances. Let me know if other plans pop up in the future.
