The right path
Posted Nov 24, 1999
The path before me lies open. I have reached a turning point which has been threatening me for sometime.
Which path do I take?
To the left: safty, comfort, familiar, loneliness...
To the right: unknown.
If I take the path to the left will I find myself, years down the road wondering "What if?"
Or do I take the path to the right? Do I have the courage to face the unknown or the rejection? Does this path have a heart? Does it have a soul that may posess me? I will never know unless I try.
I had a dream the other night. I dreamed I took the right path and he was there. We walked hand in hand talking about everything and nothing. We laughed in the same places and smiled at the same things. There were no promises made, but we needed none. We both knew that time is fleeting and you should only live for the moment.
Then the dawn came.
Now I sit on the side of my bed with the crumpled sheets unfurled and put all my dreams away and turn to face the day.

Of Y2K & flatulence
Posted Nov 8, 1999
I spent the day with my Maternal Great Grandmother yesterday. I find it amazing that this woman, at 105, is still in charge of most of her faculties. Mamie was born in the year 1894. She has seen many changes in her lifetime from the Geat Depression to the fall of communism. I asked Mamie what she thought about living long enough to have seen two centuries as well as coming up on her third century (2000), She just rolled her eyes and said, "Too long...too old!". I decided to persue the question and asked what she thought of the Y2K problem that we are all facing. She thought for a moment and then said, "I don't know about no Y2K problem, but I tell you, the only problem I have right now is flatulence!" I then had to spent the next 10 minutes listening to her expand on the problem of her weakening anus muscles!
Happy Birthday Grandma Mamie.
