I agree, h2g2 *is* a great community. In fact, it's so great I'm your official welcome party. Well, maybe not official. Welcome anyway.

Thanks for the welcome, official or not. You were very quick. I'm impressed. Was it part of your magic or do you spend your time looking for the newbies? Either way I appreciate it. If I may ask a question? Where can I find out or learn about the language used in these chat forums. I keep seeing abbreviations and things that I really confuse me - and I thought the Army was bad for abbreviations! I want to participate more but some of the coversations lose me as I can't quite follow what is being said.
As I admitted in my home page I'm new at this so thanks for your patience and any help you can give.

Hello there....
I just noticed your an aussie from another posting and thought I'd pop in and say G'Day!
Congratulations on your marriage, it's interesting because I have been in a relationship with a woman 10 years older than I (i am 23). We have been together for just over 5 years and we are still very much in love!

If you need any help here on h2g2, I may be able to help out?
Bye for now....

Don't really know where you can find out, but here are a few abbreviations:

BTW - by the way
LOL - laughing out loud
NTS - note to self

Can't think of any others at the moment.

Thanks Jester, thats a good start. I thought it was something like that but just wasn't sure. The whole internet subculture is a little daunting, you almost have to learn a new language to communicate. Thank you for your help and see you round. Sleezy.

Thank you for your good wishes and offer of assistance, I may well take you up on that sometime. As I said I am new but learning fast. These days it's survival of the fitest - learn or die. Congratulations on your relationship also, we have our moments (generation gap stuff) but I wouldn't have it any other way. See you around the traps, and say hello to Adelaide for me, I finished my schooling at Enfield High at Geppes Cross. I miss SA.

Don't forget to tell me which city you currently reside in! and remember it's a first draft, so any feedback is always welcome.smiley - smiley
